Dixon Teacher Killed in Fairfield Car Accident
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating a rollover crash that claimed the lives of three people in Fairfield, California on early Sunday morning just after midnight.
Katie Anderson, a Dixon teacher, was one of three individuals who died in the single car crash. According to CBS Sacramento, the accident occurred on westbound 80 on the North Texas Street off-ramp. Two people were pronounced dead on the scene and a third was pronounced dead at the hospital. A fourth person is in critical condition. These victims’ identities are not revealed.

Fairfield Collision Fatalities and Injuries Statistics
According to the California Office of Traffic Safety, 562 victims either killed or injured were involved in a collision during the 2012 year in Fairfield. In the 2012 report, approximately 39 fatal and injury collisions occurred at nighttime between the hours of 9PM and 3AM.
What Caused the Rollover Crash?
The cause of the crash is still unknown. California Highway Patrol is examining the cause of the crash. There are many factors that can account for a rollover crash. The news report mentioned the victims were in a truck. Trucks have a high center of gravity which potentially makes this type of vehicle more susceptible to rolling over. Additionally, speeding and driving under the influence can play a part in auto accidents. There is also the consideration of road conditions at the time of the accident. Was there road work?
